Is the Thundershirt just for Fear of Thunder?
No. Any event that leads to anxious behaviour can be eliminated with the Thundershirt.
Anxiety over loud noise (fireworks, parties, rain etc)

So this is an easy little trick to quickly create a positive association with ThunderShirt for your dog.
To put on the ThunderShirt, simply lay it over your dog's back and secure with the chest and torso straps. The fasteners make ThunderShirt very adjustable to many different body shapes. Place the ThunderShirt on your dog's back and wrap the Short Flap under the torso. |
Wrap the Long Flap under the torso and secure with fasteners onto the short flap. Make a comfortable, but snug, fit. You should be able to easily slide your fingers between the ThunderShirt and your dog's torso. |
Wrap the Top Flap down onto the Long Flap and secure with fasteners. Adjust to improve the snug fit and keep ThunderShirt securely in place. |
Wrap the Neck Straps around the front of the dog and secure with fasteners. You should be able to easily slide your fingers under the Neck Straps and should not feel restricting around your dog's neck. |
Can Dogs wear the ThunderShirt for Extended Periods of Time?
Thundershirt is designed to be safe to leave on for extended periods of time when appropriate for the situation or issue. When properly sized and properly put on with a comfortably snug fit, your dog should be very comfortable. If your dog will be wearing a ThunderShirt for more than two hours at a time, we recommend removing the ThunderShirt every one to two hours during the initial periods to check for any signs of irritation points. Irritation points are very rare, but it is best to be cautious.

I was VERY skeptical about a wrap that could stop my dog, Peaches, from snapping at (doggy) guests, from hiding under chairs and staring or barking at the front door whenever there was thunder.
